Dear Hon’ble Chief Minister,

We, the concerned citizens and taxpayers of Maharashtra, are writing this petition to express our deep concern over reports and speculation regarding the potential political pressure and premature transfer of Shri Tukaram Mundhe (IAS).

Shri Tukaram Mundhe has earned a nationwide reputation as an uncompromising, transparent, and honest administrative officer. Wherever he has been posted—whether in municipal corporations, transport, or health services—he has consistently prioritized public welfare, cracked down on corruption, enforced civic discipline, and held power accountable.

Recently, as Commissioner of the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), he has launched rigorous, relentless drives against food adulteration, fake medicines, and illegal practices that directly jeopardize public health.  

Despite his track record of institutional reform, Shri Mundhe has faced dozens of transfers throughout his career—often triggered within short spans whenever his strict anti-corruption measures clash with vested interests.  

Shifting an upright officer repeatedly sends a dangerous signal: that honesty is penalized and corrupt practices are protected.

Our Demands to the Government of Maharashtra:

Stop Any Premature Transfer: Ensure Shri Tukaram Mundhe completes a full minimum tenure (as mandated by administrative service guidelines) in his current role without political interference.

Support Honest Officers: Provide full institutional backing to officers taking tough action against adulteration, corruption, and systemic inefficiency.

Uphold Meritocracy in Governance: Reinforce public trust in the state administration by protecting officers who do their duty strictly according to the law.

We urge the Chief Minister to intervene directly, stand firmly behind upright governance, and allow Shri Tukaram Mundhe to continue his duty unhindered for the welfare of Maharashtra.
