We, the undersigned, call for immediate action to be taken regarding a series of harmful political posts circulating on social media platforms, specifically created by political figures Edi Rama and Lulzim Basha. These posts consist of mocking language, derogatory humor, and harmful political discourse that undermine meaningful political debate and foster a divisive atmosphere.

These posts serve to trivialize critical political issues, spread misinformation, and disrespect political figures, such as Edi Rama and Lulzim Basha, by focusing on spectacle rather than addressing real policies and issues. This type of content contributes to the degradation of public discourse, disrespects the intelligence of the public, and promotes a culture of ridicule rather than constructive dialogue.

Moreover, with the upcoming elections on May 11, the continuation of such posts presents a dangerous example of how political figures manipulate social media to distract from essential issues and mislead the public. These actions degrade the integrity of the electoral process and harm the public's ability to make informed decisions.

We demand that the relevant social media platforms take immediate steps to:

Review and remove the harmful and mocking political content created by Edi Rama and Lulzim Basha.
Enforce stricter guidelines to prevent the spread of divisive, sensationalist, and mocking political discourse that undermines the public's ability to engage in meaningful political debate.
Ensure that platforms are used responsibly, particularly during the lead-up to the elections, to avoid the manipulation of public opinion and to promote honest, respectful discourse.
