The most important thing I have learned so from the police themselves is that BARELY ANYBODY REPORTS THE CRİME OF İLLEGAL POİSONİNG. This is the first thing that people need to understand they have to do. This needs to change.

If your pet is poisoned or you have poison thrown into your garden, you MUST report it, even if you don’t know who did it.

Officers came to my village tonight and spoke to some of the shepherds regarding poisonings. They will continue to talk to them over the next few days. They also went into the mountains and could not find any poisoned foods. 

The officers advised me to speak to my local councilman and tell him that the police have been here. It is now his job to also speak to the farmers and make them aware of their illegal behaviour. The police officers said if he does not co-operate, they will come back to the village and speak to him directly. That way they know if he is protecting the farmers.

At this point in time I will not visit the councilman until I have a signed petition in my hands from the villagers. The voice of the village will ensure we are heard. 

The officers have also advised me to make a statement with the main council chef in the next village, informing them of what is happening in my village. I will do this tomorrow and will make more updates soon.

I’m happy to report that my baby is doing much better now and is back to her funny crazy self (having fun with all the neighbours, animal and human...!) But next time I might not be so lucky. I will not rest until we can all live more peacefully knowing that our animals and children are not in danger anymore….
