Ask Trustees: Vote NO on $3.3M plan to alter triangle traffic, kill trees, flatten for closures.

The plan to needlessly alter our triangle and slip-lane in Clarendon Hills has now exploded from $1.1M to $3.3M and the Village President wants Trustees, who represent residents, to approve it with no competitive bidding, no comprehensive traffic study, no proof of positive ROI and virtually no documented resident support. WHY and what is the rush? Sparrow must open first and then they must study how these changes would affect traffic with a comprehensive study before needlessly spending over $3,000,000!

Please WRITE a short note to our Trustees and ATTEND the meeting this Monday, July 20 at 6:30 at Christ Lutheran Church (pack the church and let them know what we think of this expensive, unproven, unwanted plan. The church is at 60 55th Street.)

They plan to:  Limit access by changing parking to parallel on the slip-lane, limit circulation by removing the proven and efficient left-turn from the slip-lane (how will we all get around to all of the shops and then back home?), eliminate our safe and proven direct crosswalk (from Brama to Sparrow - now our kids will just jaywalk and risk getting hit), install anchors for dozens of bollards for vanity sake (are those temporary bollards strong enough to stop a car from breaching the area like they did in the most recent Fuller's Carwash accident on July 1, 2026?), kill all mature shade trees in the triangle and dining areas, flatten our road in preparation for extended dining closures with no proof of a positive return on investment and no proof of safety with a comprehensive traffic study so close to our one and only train crossing in Clarendon Hills.
