Why has our Village Board authorized engineering for $1M+ of PAVERS with absolutely NO PROOF of safety and NO PROOF of support from residents? Attend Monday and ask the board WHY they held back the Downtown Resident Survey results until AFTER the April 'votes?' Now we ALL know that there is NO measurable resident SUPPORT based on that survey, and NO PROOF of safety in either traffic study/pilot that OUR PUBLIC road can EVER be safely closed for anything longer than event timeframes.
ATTEND at 6:30 Mon. May 18: Village Hall
It is NOT acceptable to turn our critical road into a profit center for months on end. Use other existing plazas for other events because closing our public road jeopardizes safety by removing vehicle queuing storage from our proven and time-tested downtown thoroughfare. This move increases danger and risk to all residents and to all visitors in Clarendon Hills. And NOW WE KNOW there is absolutely ZERO PROOF of any measurable support for this PLAZA. And ZERO desire for OTHER events on this road. The survey said that residents think we have ENOUGH EVENTS already and they want some moved to PARKS or Other existing PLAZAS. So, there is NO logical or supported REASON for this $1M+ money drop on our PUBLIC road.
See you ALL tomorrow (Monday) night!
PLEASE be there! Residents need to KEEP showing up until this board finally listens to those they were elected to represent. The board does not know better than residents. They are there to represent what residents want.
