Even on a Monday, traffic is steady in Clarendon Hills. Conditions with so many trains, require our gradual filter-lane for safe, efficient and proven traffic-flow every day of the year. The Village of CH has not yet conducted a comprehensive traffic study to prove to residents that our critical slip-lane could ever be safely closed for anything longer than a short event timeframe.

Please PROVE it before PAVING it with expensive, difficult-to-maintain, impractical pavers with the stated intent for "seasonal dining." It is not ok to turn our critical road into a profit center for months on end.  Doing so jeopardizes safety by removing vehicle queuing storage from our proven and time-tested downtown thoroughfare. This move increases danger and risk to all residents and to all visitors in Clarendon Hills.

And, to top it off the Village has not been able to prove that there is any measurable support for this flat-plaza-party-event-dining platform. The official survey showed little to no support for any such plaza to take the place of our critical roadway.

Plan to Attend next board meeting:

Monday, May 18, 6:30 PM Village Hall

Ask the board when the comprehensive traffic study will be? Ask them where the proof of resident support is? Ask them why spend so much, so soon with absolutely NO PROOF of safety or resident support?
