Safe closure of our slip-lane and traffic triangle are NOT supported by ANY data. The board CANNOT safely close roads in such close proximity to our ONLY railroad crossing, without putting residents at grave risk. Do NOT let them shutter our safe and proven vehicle and pedestrian passages.

We will NOT accept 'seasonal' closures because Metra and BNSF trains do NOT take the summer off. It is NEVER safe to shut down our roads for extended periods. Too many risks and no supporting traffic study would allow this board to shut it down. And our pedestrians need safe crossings, so keep our ORIGINAL mid-block crosswalk open and functioning for our children.
