NIX the PLAZA in '26:

$75k has been spent on a Downtown Consultant, but they didn't ask the most obvious question: do we or do we NOT support a plaza (that will sit empty like the other ones we already have) over our vital and proven escape-lane and over our beautiful and useful traffic-triangle-roundabout? No. We do NOT. We will NIX the Plaza in '26.

The Village will soon reveal the results of the consultant's leading survey which asked where to spend the downtown (TIF) money, but never asked IF we even NEED to spend that money. Hopefully, this expensive consultant will share all of the "other" comments that were made on the survey, because that is where the truth lies and the results should be public because WE paid for them. Hundreds of residents wrote on these comments that they do NOT want this cement playground plaza slab to EVER be poured. Yes. That's NEVER.

The plaza is NOT on pause. It will be in some of the consultant's drawings in their late Jan/early Feb presentations (plan to attend.) As we know, that cement playground over our main road's gradual and necessary escape-lane and traffic-triangle-roundabout will cause MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES and DAILY TRAFFIC JAMS each time a train stops in or passes (176/day) our tiny single-crossing-Village. No Plaza should ever take the place of our main road and our storefront parking in our single block, quaint and beautiful downtown district, which our small businesses rely upon.

NIX the PLAZA in '26:

1) PLEASE ATTEND the next board meeting this Monday, January 12 at 6:30 at CH Village Hall to let your CH board know that another empty cement plaza and removing more valuable storefront parking is NOT ever acceptable, especially one that covers our proven and safe passage through and around OUR Village. 

2) PLAN to ATTEND the TBD Consultant Downtown Presentations in Late Jan/Feb.
