2026 will decide the fate of our vital escape-lane and traffic-triangle-roundabout in CH.

Elimination of these proven (over decades) passages will cause loss of business, loss of life and endless congestion in OUR village. There is NO BENEFIT that outweighs the SIGNIFICANT MULTIPLE RISKS to shutting these traffic-relief elements in favor of an expensive, useless, empty cement playground-plaza in our only commerce block in such close proximity to our one-and-only train crossing.

Be prepared to CONTINUE to fight any such closures. No Plaza. Commerce and Safety must be first. Coffee-sipping, gathering and playing can be done on all of our existing plazas, our wide sidewalks, our playgrounds, our pocket parks and our big beautiful parks. 

We do NOT need more cement to be poured over our vital roads and our storefront parking spots.

Jan. 12: Village Board Meeting at 6:30 - be informed. Voice concerns because a plaza is STILL being considered by the Village and by the expensive consultants.

Late Jan/Early Feb TBD - Consultant's Downtown Drawing Presentations - plan to attend ALL of these because some of the drawing options will include this needless downtown plaza.
