Stop the petition to ban Roblox globally

The Issue

As someone who plays a vital role in the Roblox development community, I am deeply troubled by the recent petition to ban the Roblox platform both in the UK and globally. I've dedicated my career to creating innovative systems used in games—such as moderation, ranking, and tool systems—on this platform, and to see it banned would be devastating not only to me but to thousands of other developers who rely on it for their livelihood.

Roblox is not just a gaming platform; it is a haven for creativity and innovation. It enables individuals to express themselves through game development and, crucially, empowers the next generation to learn valuable skills in game development and coding. The platform provides a unique opportunity for children and young adults to learn the Lua programming language, which is a stepping stone for many into the world of technology and coding.

A ban on Roblox would not only strip opportunities away from current and future game developers but also crush the dreams of young people aspiring to enter the tech industry. Independent developers on Roblox are small business owners who thrive on the independence and creative control the platform provides. Banning Roblox would mean thousands of these developers lose their jobs and entrepreneurial freedom.

The detrimental effects of such a ban extend beyond developers. Many young users benefit from the creative outlet and educational aspects Roblox offers, which makes it more than just a game—it’s a platform where young minds blossom. The consequences of banning it would be far-reaching, impacting educational growth and technological advancements amongst youth.

Let's come together to nurture talent and creativity, not stifle it. Encourage rather than ban, foster learning rather than obstruct it. Sign this petition to stop the ill-considered movement to ban Roblox, and protect the vibrant community and infinite possibilities it provides.
