I have experienced civil rights abuses by the UK's  Home Office through criminal acts. The serious issue of abuse of authority and public trust that I have encountered has profoundly traumatized me.  In addition, I got trapped in a nightmare, actively traumatized by PTSD!

I am a law-abiding African American Muslim, 57-year-old father of three daughters who legally entered the UK, on the 20th, of April 2016 to seek asylum. Upon arrival at Heathrow Airport, the UK Border Agency (UKBA) seized all of my documents before meeting with Home Office (HO) caseworker Mr. Vijay Shah and UKBA Steve Gill; these documents provide strong evidence supporting my asylum application.

During my extensive interview with Mr. Shah and Mr. Gill, I explained the difficulties and dangers my family and I faced in New Hampshire, USA due to persecution. I expressed my concerns for our entire family’s safety and well-being and mentioned the violations of our civil, property, and religious rights, and how we were treated as second-class citizens (slaves); when asked by UKBA Steven Gill, if I planned to bring my family to the UK, I answered yes.

Mr. Shah the HO caseworker ultimately granted me asylum, and I was fingerprinted and escorted to the Airport holding room; at about 6:30 pm, the UKBA who took my fingerprint came to the waiting room and informed me: I will be called for an interview.

Moreover, later that night, at around 11 pm, a different UKBA officer approached me aggressively, wearing a face mask, and ordered me to sign a document at the Airport waiting room; fearing for my safety, I signed without reading it, and he gave me an ID card; the officer said it’s too late for an interview and that I would be transported to a local hotel and interviewed the next day.

Subsequent at about 3 am, I was escorted to a high-security prison and remained there for 62 days without proper legal proceedings. I believe my incarceration was unfair, excessive, and unlawful.

Two weeks after my imprisonment the prison supervisor confiscated my ID card.

On the 26th of May 2016, I received a new UK ID card from the UKBA in prison, which had no expiration date.

After being incarcerated for 43 days, I was released on the 1st, of June 2016, and then escorted to the airport; at the Airport, informed that I would undergo screening.

During my interactions with the HO and UKBA, I have encountered profoundly disturbing experiences, unethical conduct, illegal actions, and a disregard for my legal rights from the start! I went through a series of horrific events, incarcerated for 62 days without due process; the unprecedented violations of my basic human rights left me deeply traumatized.

The INITIAL CONTACT AND ASYLUM REGISTRATION FORM (screening) Dated 20th, of April 2016, by Officer Steven Gill, is incorrect and false.

On the 1st, of June 2016, I had a meeting with a UKBA representative whom I met for the time at Heathrow Airport; although he didn’t introduce himself, he wanted to discuss an alleged initial contact and asylum registration form (screening). The meeting lasted nearly an hour, during which he asked me questions; I noticed that about 95% of the questions were the same ones I had previously answered in an interview with Mr. Shah and UKBA Steven Gill.

After the screening, the UKBA asked me to sign a document. However, the UKBA took the document away from me immediately after I signed it. Following the screening, I was escorted back to prison and remained in prison until the 20th, of June 2016.

After nearly a week of my screening, I received a sealed envelope from a prison supervisor containing a copy of the screening document. Upon reviewing the screening document, I noticed the checkmark and date were not in my handwriting; it seemed someone had inserted them illegally without my knowledge or consent. Although I shared my findings with others, I ultimately decided against reporting them because of my status as a prisoner. Reporting corruption could have made things more difficult for me. I was concerned about my safety because the people involved had power over me; I remained silent and did not inform the authorities about their illegal actions.

After spending 58 days incarceration, on the 16th, of June 2016 I took legal action against the HO, for wrongful imprisonment. However, I was released on June 20th, 2016, after 62 days being incarcerated, without any explanation. It seems that the HO was attempting to hide its illegal actions and abuse of public trust.

On the 28th, of October 2016, I received a letter from the HO informing me that they aimed to decide on my case by 28th, of April 2017. Even though I had an interview with caseworker Mr. Shah and UKBA Steven Gill on the 20th, of April 2016, I was ultimately granted asylum by caseworker Mr. Shah at Heathrow Airport. However, I was interviewed again on the 12th, of March 2018, in Birmingham UK.

On the 16th of October 2018, my Solicitor received a letter from the HO dated the 27th of September 2018; the HO arbitrarily rejected my asylum application and denied me the right to appeal the rejected asylum application. The HO suspended the asylum support leaving me to die in the street despite my health conditions.

On the 24th of March 2022, I hired the Leigh Day law office to represent my case against the HO under the Hammett Line; after hiring the law office, I started experiencing continual harassment by abusive, and lawless fascist HO staff in the accommodation.

On the 24th of May 2022, I received a letter from the HO informing me that my asylum support ends on the 16th of June 2022; the letter also contained a deportation threat.

Due to the HO’s lack of transparency, egregious conduct, and cruel and inhuman acts once again, I became homeless. Beginning in June of 2022, I have not received any benefits, struggling daily to exist and survive homelessness and suffering from multiple health issues.

I feel that the HO has acted unjustly towards me by acting as both judge and prosecutor in my case. The HO does not represent the judiciary in the UK and should not be able to impose judicial rulings or deny my right to due process; such unprecedented conduct is malicious and disingenuous.

The HO treated me terribly, and had a malicious intent to deny me justice; their acts appear rooted in bigotry relegating my rights to second-class citizens. The HO violates my fundamental human rights, including my rights to freedom of movement and protection from deportation. Additionally, the HO made multiple mistakes while handling my case, resulting in repeated denials of due process of law and unfair treatment as a citizen of lower-class.

For more than seven years, the HO has reduced my rights to livestock animals, treated me as a criminal, and persecuted me for being African American Muslim asylum seeker. Due to repeated ill-treatment and egregious abuses of power, I suffer from mental health issues, including suicide risk.

My health condition is deteriorating with every passing day and requires urgent medical help; for more than eight months, I have not sought medical assessment due to well-founded fears for my safety and the threats to my freedom, I have well-founded fears of being arrested, imprisoned, and deported without due process of law by the HO.

Due to the HO’s bias, negligence, and deliberate egregious conduct, I have been experiencing emotional harm, distress, and the consequences of wrongful confinement. Moreover, I have been stuck in a nightmare, actively traumatized by PTSD!

I’m worried about what might happen to me in the future. I’m concerned that corrupt, and bigoted HO officials might try to harm me to cover up their misdeeds the horrible illegal actions a form of persecution, and therefore, I’ve been hiding since June 2022. I don’t have a solicitor (lawyer), and my situation is difficult faced with a challenging predicament, and it doesn’t seem probable that I will ever live to attain justice in the UK.

Since April 20th, 2016, I have been dealing with an issue that involves abuse of power and a breach of public trust. Unfortunately, my case has been treated as a political matter and met with prejudice and conspiracy; public officials have been mistreating law-abiding citizen and genuine refugees in an unlawful, inhumane, and harsh manner which is a blatant infringement on my human rights.

Respectfully, I appeal to all persons of conscience for urgent help in saving my life from imminent death by suicide due to injustice and abuse of power. Please share my story with a local authority, and Members of Parliament to intervene in my case so that justice can survive and thank you!
