Victory!

Several rescue leaders have spoken with the DOA and been assured that the clarification that went out was not going to be put back in effect. Assurances of upcoming changes to better protect shelter pets from bad actors/bad rescues were promised. Karen Talbot, a well respected rescuer, had an hour meeting and was given hope that the DOA will honor the pledge for said changes. So it is in this hope, we declare victory. I would like to thank everyone that lit up the phones, social media, signed the petition and made enough noise that the rescue leaders voices were heard loud and clear. I would also like to thank the DOA for quickly understanding the damage the clarification would have caused and pulling it back. And for working hard to craft common sense change that will protect the shelter pets of this great state. Thank you and God Bless.
