The Issue

Stop the Nickel Waste

The U.S. government spends 14 cents to make a 5-cent coin.

That’s not policy — that’s insanity.

Every year, taxpayers loses millions just to mint nickels nobody uses. Meanwhile, digital payments dominate, and the metal inside each coin is worth more than the coin itself.

No waste is good. Environmental or fiscal waste blatant is embarrassing and it also raises prices for nickel and copper that are important to our economy.

It’s time to retire the nickel.

Save taxpayer money.

Stop subsidizing waste.

Let’s make the U.S. Mint make sense again.

Sign to stop the nickel waste.
