Hello [Senator / Assemblymember] __________________,
I am writing to you today to ask that you please vote to pass Senate Bill S9487 before the New York Legislative Session ends today so that low potency hemp THC beverages with up to 5mg of hemp THC can again be safely regulated, sold, and accessible to adults (21+) in our state through New York’s existing Cannabinoid Hemp laws and regulations. Increasing New York’s current THC limit on beverages containing THC derived from hemp from 1mg to 5mg will:
- Bring meaningful business back to New York’s hemp farmers, processors, and manufacturers that were negatively impacted by New York’s current prohibition on low potency THC beverages made with hemp; and
- Make safe, regulated, low potency hemp THC beverages with up to 5mg of naturally occurring THC accessible to adults (21+) so that responsible New York consumers like myself will not be forced to purchase these products in neighboring states where they are safely regulated and sold, which of course increases consumer costs and resources and eliminates viable tax revenue for the State of New York.
I respectfully request that you and your colleagues in the New York Legislature pass Senate Bill S9487 today so that New York farmers, processors, retailers, adult consumers, and the great State of New York can again enjoy the many benefits of safe, regulated, low potency hemp THC beverages.
