Avalanche fans unite! The yeti foot, likeness and mascot have been a part of Avalanche identity since our inaugural season in 1995. The team moved from Quebec and made history in Colorado bringing home our first Stanley Cup championship. As well as the first major sports title for the state of Colorado. 

The Yeti foot was not just a shoulder patch on our jerseys for 20 years. It was and still is a part of who we are. Real Avs fans will always remember, Howler and his antics. Our original mascot, who was a Yeti. Avalanche faithful still proudly wear the Yeti foot on hats, shirts, chains and hockey sweaters.

If you haven’t heard the new Utah hockey team has narrowed down their name choice to six finalist. Outlaws, Mammoth, Blizzard, Venom, Yeti and Utah Hockey Club.  Since they aren’t able to come up with something original we must try and stop them from using Yeti. 

We are a storied franchise with the greatest fan base in the world!
