Living in the peaceful Bird Sections of Commack/Hauppauge, the Autumn Section and even as far as Smithtown Pines has become unbearable with constant noise pollution from the Hauppauge Industrial District. As residents who have enjoyed the serenity of our neighborhoods for years, we now find ourselves unable to sleep due to a disruptive tonal ringing and constant rumble that is present 24 hours a day.

Personally, this has drastically affected my ability to function in daily life. Working from home, something I once loved, has turned into a stressful experience as the incessant noise makes focusing  nearly impossible. I'm not alone, a growing number of our neighbors are sharing similar frustrations online, as this noise penetrates through homes and disrupts the long-held peace. 

Based on community observations and ongoing inquiries, large-scale air purification and ventilation systems associated with pharmaceutical manufacturing operations appear to be a significant contributing factor. These industrial systems, while necessary for production, are operating in a way that is negatively impacting nearby residential areas.

This noise pollution isn’t just an inconvenience, it's a serious disruption that threatens our community's well-being. The persistent noise has far-reaching consequences, not only causing lack of sleep and increased stress but also potentially negatively impacting health over time, according to various studies. 

We call upon local government officials and environmental agencies to take immediate action to investigate the source of this noise pollution and implement effective solutions. Potential measures could include stricter regulations on industrial noise levels, required maintenance checks on equipment, improved insulation for equipment within the district, and scheduling specific hours for particularly intensive operations to minimize disruption.
