UPDATE – After Today’s Budget Announcement
Today the Government officially confirmed plans to introduce new EV road taxes and, potentially, pay-per-mile charging. Many of us hoped common sense would prevail, but instead this proposal has been pushed closer to becoming reality.
This makes our petition more important than ever.
Thousands of drivers made the switch to electric because we were encouraged to do so — for the environment, for running costs, and for the long-term benefits of cleaner transport. Changing the rules after people have already invested is not just unfair, it undermines confidence in future policy.
Our message remains simple:
EV drivers should not be punished for doing the right thing.
Any new system must be fair, transparent, and properly balanced.
We’ve now passed 800 supporters, with thousands of views and hundreds of shares. Every signature strengthens our case and shows policymakers that EV drivers are paying attention — and won’t accept decisions that put early adopters at a disadvantage.
Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, and spoken up so far. Please keep sharing the petition widely. The more voices we gather now, the harder we are to ignore.
