We did it.
On Tuesday, something genuinely historic happened. Wales became the first democracy in the world to pass legislation paving the way to ban political deception in elections.
That is extraordinary. And it happened because people like you refused to accept that lying in politics is just “how things are”.
Seven years ago, when we first began this campaign, we were told it was naïve. That nothing would change. But you signed petitions, you shared the idea, you supported us, and together we built something that simply couldn’t be ignored.
More than 200,000 people stood behind this. Politicians from different parties came together. And now, the principle is established in law: that deliberately misleading the public should have consequences.
This is a global first. And it matters far beyond Wales.
At a time when democracies around the world are being undermined by disinformation and distrust, this shows a different path is possible. It creates a model that others can follow.
But this is not the end of the story.
All eyes now turn to Westminster.
The same principle is within reach here. Amendments we have worked on are already tabled. There is real cross-party support. And there is a genuine opportunity to make this the law across the UK.
If we succeed, it won’t just change British politics. It will send a signal to democracies everywhere that truth matters, and can be protected.
But getting this over the line will take focused work in the weeks ahead. Briefing MPs. Responding to challenges. Supporting those inside Parliament who are making the case for change.
We are close, but not there yet.
If you are able to support this next phase, your contribution will directly help us take this from a breakthrough in Wales to a transformation across the UK.

For now though, it’s important to pause and recognise what you’ve helped achieve.
This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because people came together and insisted that our politics can be better than this.
Thank you for being part of that.
With real gratitude,
Jennifer
