I fully support your petition. I oppose building an AES Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage System on Monterey Road. As you shared, the location is logistically and fundamentally unsafe for school children, as well as being an environmental hazard to our town’s agricultural heritage.

Why/how is this even being considered? It’s dangerous. It defies common sense and doesn’t pass the “smell test". And, why would AES get a pass in overriding local zoning and land-use restrictions? The location identified is legally protected green space and across the street from school children. I’m concerned there is more to this, than we are being told. San Jose’s Fire Marshall should deny their permit.
