Petition to: The Victorian Department of Education, Caulfield Council, and Australian Government Officials

We, the undersigned, call for the immediate cancellation and review of the “Lions Nerf Heroes – Beeper Operation” event scheduled for 7 December 2025 in Caulfield, Victoria.

This event openly promotes real Mossad and IDF operations, rebranding them as children’s games. It glorifies tactics used in ongoing conflicts—conflicts that have caused immense suffering, particularly for Palestinian children, who have endured decades of displacement, trauma, and loss.

Teaching Australian kids to celebrate these operations is deeply inappropriate, harmful, and divisive.

Why This Is Concerning

Across the world, especially in Palestine, children are living through the consequences of military operations. Many have lost their homes, their schools, and their families.

To turn these same operations into “fun missions” for Australian children is disrespectful to the thousands of young people harmed by conflict and completely contradicts the values of peace and empathy we should be teaching.

This event:

Normalises state violence by presenting it as entertainment

Celebrates operations used in real conflicts, including those that have harmed civilians

Desensitises children to the impact of war

Promotes a one-sided political narrative under the guise of a family activity

Ignores the suffering of Palestinian children, who deserve recognition, not erasure

What We Stand For

We believe children in Australia should grow up learning:

Peace

Compassion

Human rights

Understanding of global struggles

Respect for all communities — including Palestinians

Not military tactics. Not intelligence missions. Not celebrations of conflict.

Our Demands

We call on local authorities and education officials to:

1. Cancel the “Beeper Operation” event immediately

2. Investigate how such an event was approved for children

3. Develop clear guidelines preventing militarised or conflict-related programming targeted at young people

4. Promote inclusive, peaceful youth activities that respect all communities, including Palestinians living with the consequences of conflict

Children deserve peace  not propaganda.

Palestinian children deserve recognition  not further erasure.

Australia must stand for humanity, not the militarisation of kids.
