The bill is currently awaiting a key debate in the House of Lords. However, rather than opening a dialogue with our community following criticism in the Lords report, Trust leadership has doubled down. This is backed by a recent Charity Commission warning instructing opposing Trustees to get in line, resign, or face regulatory action.

With estimated costs climbing to £1.4 million - costs they blame on the very local petitioners the Trust refused to hear - it is clear that reform from within is no longer an option.

That is why our campaign is pivoting to a clear, unified message: Stop the Bill, Protect Our Hills. We stand in solidarity with the opposing Trustees and local councillors fighting for transparency and true public representation.

Our Campaign to Amend The Malvern Hills Bill:

The Malvern Hills Bill is currently making its way through parliament, but there's a significant oversight — the locals, who substantially fund the Malvern Hills Conservators, are being left out of the conversation. As residents, we contribute a levy through our Council Tax and believe we deserve accountability and transparency on how these funds are utilised.

We urge the House of Lords Committee and the promoters of the bill to engage with levy payers and members of the public in the Malvern area. Including the voices of those who financially support the conservatorship is necessary for a transparent and democratic process.

The Malvern Hills are not only a stunning natural landmark but also a vital part of our community's heritage and daily lives. The Malvern Hills Bill, if passed without local input, could potentially reshape the management and preservation of these hills without considering the will of the very people who live, work, and play in their midst.

It's essential that the local public, who have consistently supported the maintenance and protection of the Malvern Hills, have a meaningful opportunity to express their views and concerns.
