A bi-election has been called for the riding of Battle River - Crowfoot for Monday, August 18, 2025. This is the riding that the Longest Ballot Committee has stated they plan to run 200 independent candidates on the ballot.

So far there are only two confirmed candidates listed for this riding, according to Elections Canada - Conservative candidate Pierre Poilievre and Bonnie Critchley (Independent). There have been no further public updates since the initial announcement from the Longest Ballot Committee as to whether they intend to participate.  

Since creating this petition, other concerned groups have stepped up and launched similar petitions in an effort to prevent the Longest Ballot Committee from participating in this bi-election. This is good news as it demonstrates that canadians recognize that this group does not represent a legitimate interest in our democratic process and want change.
