San Antonio Animal Services are killing 38 dogs today and similar numbers each day. These are healthy friendly adoptable dogs in contravention of their own policies. See ‘ACS cannot completely eliminate euthanasia for shelter pets who come in gravely sick, injured or behaviorally challenged; rather, the shelter will use all humane means to place pets in need’. The dogs they kill are very much not falling into these categories and their live release rate has fallen below their stated intentions.
