In 2022, six days a week, animal rescue nonprofit and kind individuals had less than two hours to rescue dogs that are released to be euthanized. They apparently just changed this policy to a notification the day before on Thursday 29th December 2023: the petition reached over 19,000 on this day.

You have had a good effect!  Although this is not enough, it will help people to network and find places for them.

Now we need to stop the killing of adoptable dogs. They killed Bailey today on Friday December 30th--a sweet pittie mom. They also killed Bentley, Churro, Izzy and Blake: all friendly, adoptable dogs. And more were sent to the euthanasia room.  Tell Ron Nuremberg, San Antonio's mayor, who funds this shelter and helps set its policies, and Shannon Sims, who as director balances the books with dog deaths and does not care about them, that this needs to stop. Urgently. If they think this killing is a good policy why doesn't San Antonio Animal Services draw attention to it on their social media page.
