Petition updateStop the Killing of Healthy Animals at ACCT Philly: Demand No-Kill and Transparency🐾 Over 500 Voices Strong — But We’re Not Done Yet 🐾

Thanks to YOU, we’ve passed 500 signatures calling for real reform at ACCT Philly—and that number continues to grow.

This fight isn’t just about what happens inside the shelter. It’s about a system that leads animals there and leaves them behind. And it gets worse every day if we stay silent.

🚨 Right now, dogs like Hugo and Kobe are time-stamped for euthanasia.
That means they’ve been given a date and time to die—not because they’re suffering or dangerous, but because there’s no space, no foster, no plan.
These are loving, adoptable dogs with stories.

🐶 Hugo is a small stray, recently trapped and brought into the shelter. He needs someone to give him a second chance.

🐶 Kobe is a beautiful dog. The site states that he's good with kids, fully trained, and knows commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down.” However, he lost the only home he’s known since puppyhood.

ACCT Philly also has a cat timestamp section. Please remember to check their profiles, too—your share or foster could save a life.

Check the time-stamped dogs and cats sections. Look at their photos, watch their videos, and read their bios. Many more are waiting. The list changes daily.
Please share their stories—your share could be the one that helps them find a home.

I’ve watched many loving souls euthanized with wagging tails and hopeful eyes. I make sure I don’t become desensitized—because once this becomes normal, we’ve lost our humanity.
Keeping this out of sight only makes it easier to ignore. But I won’t.

💔 This is not the animals’ fault. The system is failing them.

And that’s why we’re demanding change:

✅ A No-Kill Policy for healthy and treatable animals
✅ Mandatory rehoming efforts and rescue outreach before euthanasia
✅ Transparency through public reporting and documentation
✅ Support for owners in crisis, so fewer animals are surrendered
✅ Enforcement of spay/neuter laws, increased shelter capacity, and independent audits

📢 This city must do better—for the animals and for the people who care about them.

⚠️ Do not let our momentum slow down.
I need your help to keep this petition moving. Please share it on every platform you can—Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, Reddit—anywhere that allows it.
Share it in animal advocacy groups, rescue communities, and with friends and family.

💬 Use your voice for advocacy and hope.
With your help, we can reach the signatures needed to demand real action from our leaders.

Together, we can build a Philadelphia that protects the voiceless.

With gratitude and determination,
Mary Rose

🗒️ A Personal Note:

I’ve had some people say to me, “It’s just the way it is,” or “It’s part of the ecosystem—animals have to die.”

But that mindset is deeply dismissive of the real issue.

These are not wild animals living in a natural cycle. They are domesticated pets—created, owned, and abandoned by humans.
Their deaths are not part of nature’s design. They’re the result of human failure, a lack of resources, and broken systems that don’t prioritize life.

Saying it’s “just reality” lets those systems off the hook. It turns a blind eye to what could be fixed with better support, stronger outreach, and the will to change.

I don’t accept “this is just how it is.” Because it doesn’t have to be.
