Subject: Urgent International Support for Stray Animals in Iran
Stray dogs and cats in Iran are facing severe and ongoing suffering caused by neglect, hunger, abuse, and inhumane population control practices. Independent shelters and volunteer rescuers are working under extremely difficult conditions, often with very limited resources, funding, and legal protection.
There are numerous reports and documented videos indicating that some stray animals have been subjected to cruel and inhumane population control methods, including poisoning, shooting, and abandonment in unsafe environments. Such practices result in prolonged suffering and do not represent ethical or humane solutions.
We urgently call on the international animal welfare community and compassionate individuals worldwide to pay attention to the situation of stray animals in Iran and help raise global awareness about their suffering.
We respectfully ask organizations such as World Animal Protection and Four Paws International to consider exploring practical and humane ways to support independent shelters, volunteer rescuers, and animal protection initiatives.
This petition does not aim to collect financial donations. Instead, it seeks to promote international awareness, ethical animal welfare practices, and humanitarian attention to the situation of stray animals in Iran.
