A concerned citizen is disturbed by the news of a crow and magpie shoot advertised as a "fun" and "family friendly" event by the Woodlands Wildlife Association. This event, which suggests the casual killing of scores of sentient birds, represents a retroactive and disquieting response to the relationship between humans and wildlife. 

Birds, such as crows and magpies, are not only important components of our ecosystem, but also known for their high intelligence and complex social systems. They are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, a legislation designed to prevent their decline due to human activities. Despite this, the cruel event not only exists but is being heavily promoted, reflecting an archaic mindset towards our interaction with wildlife.

We should be prioritizing education and fostering a respectful approach to nature, not promoting activities that encourage killing as a form of entertainment. It is vital that our Minister of Agriculture receives this message, comprehends the gravity of this issue, and takes necessary actions to prevent such gross misrepresentation of human interaction with wildlife.
