Stop the import of Israeli goods into Ireland

The Issue

We, as farmers in Ireland, are deeply connected to our land and our community. We understand the struggles of farming, the hard work it entails, and the pride that comes from seeing your crops and livestock flourish. We understand the pressures that other farmers are under, in terms of maintaining a farm and providing for your family and community. However, we cannot sit idly by now while our fellow farmers in Palestine face eviction, assault, starvation, murder and bombardment.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for decades, causing immeasurable suffering. The United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) reported that in 2020 alone, over 700 structures were demolished in the occupied Palestinian territories by Israeli forces, this has led to displacement and livelihood loss. As farmers ourselves, we can imagine how devastating it would be to lose your source of income overnight.

We believe that trade sanctions can be an effective tool for political change. Ireland has a history of standing up against injustice - we played a significant role in imposing sanctions on South Africa during Apartheid - and now it's time for us to take a stand again.

We call upon the Government of Ireland to cease all trade with Israel until they respect international law and stop these unjust actions against the people of Palestinian. This is not just about politics; this is about human rights, justice and solidarity among those who till the earth.

Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for all farmers around the world!
