URGENT!! 2/16/23 Show up to Final Commissioner Vote on the Homeless Shelter on Sunnyside Rd.

The final vote on the conversion of the Quality Inn on Sunnyside road into a homeless shelter / transitional housing will take place on Thursday, February 16th, 2023 at 6:00pm at : 2051 Kaen Road Oregon City, OR 97045 ROOM : 409.  If you care about your community please show up at this hearing. You do not have to speak. You can bring a sign and your presence will speak volumes.

Through our advocacy, engagement and pressure through the media, it appears that we may have swayed two of the five votes to a "No" on this location. We just need to convert one more vote to a NO. Public pressure and your presence is needed to relay the message that this is NOT a good location.

If you are able to, please mark your calendars and show up to the hearing. It will make a difference if the commissioners know that you care about this topic.

I cannot stress the importance of this enough. The owner of the Office Depot plaza behind the proposed location is already losing tenants because of this. Clackamas Town Center has indicated that this will affect their ability to bring in new businesses and investment.  And that's just the tip of the iceberg. They plan to have the facility up and running this summer!
