Petition updateStop the ICE Detention Center in Washington CountyTuesday Morning Protest in Hagerstown: We’re Not Backing Down Against the Proposed ICE Warehouse
Hagerstown Rapid Response …Hagerstown, MD, United States
Jun 8, 2026

As we prepare for Tuesday’s protest outside the Washington County Commissioners building, newly released DHS documents continue confirming many of the concerns our community has raised for months about the proposed ICE detention warehouse in Williamsport.

The federal notice reveals that ICE is planning a facility designed to accommodate up to 1,500 people and that the project would require major infrastructure upgrades, including a 750,000-gallon water storage tank, sewer modifications, floodplain review, for some reason a gun range, and expanded utility capacity.

From the very beginning, we at Hagerstown Rapid Response and Washington County Indivisible have warned that this project will have major impacts on Washington County infrastructure, public health, environmental resources, and community accountability.

That is why we are continuing to organize.

Join us, TOMORROW MORNING (Tuesday) to oppose the proposed ICE detention facility and mark one full year without public comment at County Commissioners meetings.

🚨Protest Details🚨
When: Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 9:00 AM
