The Issue

In our neighborhood, children laugh and play along the streets without a worry. But as a parent, I have concerns as cars tend to speed through the stop sign near our home. The thought of increased traffic, trucks rumbling through, and strangers loitering near our neighborhood is alarming. With a proposed gas station and drive-thru restaurant poised for construction at the intersection of Highway 3 and Harris Crossing Blvd, this unsettling vision of our future is a real possibility.
The proposed development poses significant risks to our community. Traffic congestion is expected to increase dramatically, raising the danger for children and pedestrians. Beyond immediate roadway concerns, the looming risks of gas leaks and explosions can't be ignored. The mere presence of a gas station brings potential cancer risks due to hazardous emissions, exacerbated by our prevailing winds.
Our neighborhood is not just a collection of houses; it’s where families build dreams and create lasting memories. Homes in these neighborhoods represent substantial investments, with some valued at half a million dollars. The introduction of such commercial establishments not only threatens the safety, comfort, and health of residents but also brings the potential for declining property values. Homeowners have voiced their fears about the prospects of loitering, increased crime, and the steady decline of their once tranquil environment.
The impact of this proposal is more than just numbers and statistics. It's about protecting the wellbeing and peace of our community, ensuring our children can play safely, and preserving the integrity and value of our homes. Our town officials in Mooresville, NC have the power to vote against this development, safeguarding our neighborhoods from irreversible damage.

Join us in urging our local officials to listen to the concerns of their constituents. By voting NO to this proposed gas station and drive-thru restaurant, they can prioritize the safety, health, and financial well-being of our community. Your support is crucial in ensuring our voices are heard.

Please sign this petition to protect our families, our homes, and our future.
