Community Information Meeting

DLRCOCO planners recommend that Red Rock's high rise proposal for the Glenageary Road/Sallynoggin roundabout is rejected, but will this make any difference?

Stop the Highrise welcomes the Councils recommendation but we know that the decision makers in An Bord Pleanala, can and often do, ignore the views of Council planners.

Other communities have experience of permission being granted for similar unruly developments, despite public opposition, Council opposition and even opposition from An Bord Pleanala's own inspectors.

  • What happens to our community if Red Rock get the go ahead for these towers? Is there a way to appeal?
  • What happens if Red Rock are turned down? Can the same thing happen again?
  • The SHD system has come to an end but what will replace it?
  • How do we as a community ensure socially fair and community responsible development?
  • How do we ensure that we have a voice and that we are an integral part of the planning process for development in our area?

We will come together to discuss these pressing matters.

Stop the Highrise will host a Community Information Meeting on Thursday 24th March at 7.30 p.m. in the Sallynoggin Youth and Community Centre, Church Place, Sallynoggin.

We will have a panel of expert speakers who will give us the benefit of their knowledge and experience on planning issues.

Directions: The venue is just off Pearse Street - opposite O'Donovan's Funeral Home -  take the road that goes by the church side and it is on the right. Parking available or you can park at the church and cross the road.

Can you help spread the word?

  • We have fliers for the meeting that. Can you take some for your road or school/club or gym?
  • Maybe you can share this notice on your What's App groups and to your friends and family.
  • Maybe you can help build a strong sense of community by displaying a poster in the window of your house and car like many people have already.

Send us an email if you want leaflets or posters or if you have any questions at stopthenogginhighrise@gmail.com

We hope to see you next Thursday the 24th.
