Friends of Roundhay Park - FoRP Leeds
Feb 2, 2017
On 31st January 2017, Lucinda Yeadon, Deputy Leader of Leeds City Council, announced that the Council would not be proceeding with the idea of a Go Ape adventure facility in Roundhay Park. She stated that “it was clear from the responses to the consultation that local residents in the area had concerns regarding this proposal. Taking this into account, we have agreed that Roundhay Park will not be put forward as a future site option for this type of attraction.” Your 3,060 signatures to our petition obviously had an effect. The Council now propose to have discussions with Go Ape regarding a possible site elsewhere in the city. As the Friends objection was solely that Ram Wood was not a suitable location for this type of facility, hopefully, this suggestion will satisfy all parties. Many thanks to all of you for your support Friends of Roundhay Park (FoRP)
