Thank you for your support

Dear All The Friends of Roundhay Park thank you for your support in signing our petition against the proposal to grant Go Ape a 20 year lease on part of Ram Wood. We have closed the petition as the initial consultation was closed on the 17th. When closed, the petition had 3060 signatures. We will now be sending paper copies to Lucinda Yeadon, executive member for Parks and Countryside, and selected councillors. However the battle is not yet won. Go Ape are still likely to submit a formal planning application. If this happens we will contest it vigorously, both in terms of technical planning issues and the much wider concerns you have expressed in your comments. We will do our best to ensure all such concerns, are made to all councillors, not just the members of the planning committee, before the planning decision. We will be posting regular updates on our Facebook page and also on our website www.forp.org so please keep in touch with developments. Finally, please inform us of any activity in Ram Wood that appears to be related to Go Ape. They have already marked a number of trees which they plan to use. Friends of Roundhay Park
