On April 9th, 2024, Glassboro's Planning Board gave approval to Woods Glassboro Properties Development LLC to start building 76 residential units 3 story, up-down condos. These condos will go for $360,000, which are overpriced and unaffordable. Not only this, but the South Academy Street location in which these condos will be built is a minority populated area, composing mostly of people of color. This is active gentrification of an area that is largely low income housing, which will cause the price of living to go up, and displace the current residents of the area. 

This is not the only problem, because these condos will mostly be sold to college students of Rowan University. The area in which these condos will be located is a family friendly, largely residential neighborhood. The introduction of college students to the area will cause the area to become loud, dangerous, and unsafe for children and families. 

It is inperative that you sign this petition, and increase recogniziton that these condos are not welcome in Glassboro. Glassboro needs more affordable housing, and the Planning Board needs better recognition of the families and residents that live here full time.

Please help keep gentrification out of Glassboro!
