A whopping 70% of the carbon footprint in eggs comes from growing corn and soya to feed chickens.
Free-range hens boost carbon 20%
20% of poultry droppings are estimated to be voided outside the house (Pers. comm. Elson, ADAS); this is an increase on the previous estimate of 12%, and represents a real change in that newer systems are designed such that birds do spend longer outside.
As far the environment agencies “Permit to Pollute Cornwall” and having read through their 70 page document for their reason's to approve, I have to say, there is a great deal in it that is sound sense, as well as a lot more that is all sound and all nonsense.
The way this is going, it looks like we may have to fund a "Judicial Review" against the Environment agency.
These are costly and we will have to employ a barrister,
We have 23k objectors on this site at the moment, could I ask you to consider a donation of £1 to our Go Fund me Campaign, this will help us to fight this appalling proposal.
