This application has reached an all time low. The case officer has submitted his report to the Strategic planning committee, the hearing is set for the 15th Feb, 1 week from tomorrow. Unfortunately the case officer is recommending approval for this industrial egg farm. The report is quite bias in that it makes very little reference to the enormous amount of objections, its content appears to carry more weight for the very limited supporter’s, most of whom are out of county and will benefit in some way or other should this proposal be given permission. The work involved in gathering all the evidence to stop this appalling proposal has once again fallen on very deaf ears; even the statutory consultants appear to have wasted their time and effort in producing the reports to the Council. The main concern for us now is the case officer wanting the strategic planning committee to hand the decision back to him and another council member in order to make the final decision under delegated powers. Should permission be granted, it will open the flood gates for more.
