As a small group, we have been active in highlighting the many issues with this application; recent events have given us cause to investigate, at a greater depth, some of the documents submitted on the Council portal. Inaccurate studies and blatant misrepresentation appear to be quite the norm. A business wishing to diversify, promote sustainability and enhance the natural environment amongst many other attributes, will usually gain the required permissions and go pretty much unhindered. A business that threatens health and wellbeing, creates potential threats to ground, air, wildlife and water and shows a complete disregard to the historic and natural environment will only draw negativity. The Uk is seeing an increase in free range industrial egg production, this will only reduce the cost of eggs in the supermarkets and therefore reduce the margins of producers, this will surely have an impact on the hens at some point.
