First, thanks for all your support! We've gathered over 2,100 signatures (965 sourced from Facebook; 304 from X). Over $600 contributed by 55 promoters have purchased over 4,500 petition views and yielded 448 signatures.

Second, check out these original pieces:

  • transcript of Minister Crawford's press conference in Toronto on March 13, 2026 - where the Ford government first made its case for amending Ontario's FIPPA
  • transcript of Premier Ford's press conference in Brockville on March 16, 2026 - where he highlighted two additional reasons for amending FIPPA: (i) protecting the privacy of a 1,000 constituents who call him on his cellphone every day seeking assistance and (ii) protecting Ontarians from "absolutely serious" threats from Communist China
  • breakdown of Ford’s misleading claims that (i) FIPPA was written before email, smartphones, cloud computing, etc. and, therefore, the legislation can't cope with these technologies and (ii) he's simply proposing to bring Ontario into line with other jurisdictions across Canada

Third, we have aggregated select media coverage of Ford's plan - which is universally negative.

Finally, our reach on socia media is largely restricted to Facebook and Bluesky. If you have reach on other social media, e.g. X or Instagram, please urge your followers to sign and share our petition.

Til next time!
