The Issue

WYfresh is so much more than just an urban farm—it's a vital part of our community's fabric in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This incredible asset not only bolsters our local economy and supports other small businesses, but it also fosters community unity and education. Urban farms like WYfresh are instrumental in reducing our carbon footprint by cutting down food miles and providing much-needed greenspace. Most importantly, it offers us access to fresh, locally produced foods that are essential for our health and well-being.

Despite these immense contributions, WYfresh is currently facing the threat of forced annexation by the City of Cheyenne. This action could have devastating consequences for how WYfresh currently operates. Many questions have been unanswered regarding how rezoning and annexing the land would affect day to day operations, resulting in much uncertainty. WYfresh needs the chance to have all of their questions answered in writing BEFORE annexation.

We urge the City of Cheyenne to reconsider its plan for forced annexation and to acknowledge the value that WYfresh brings to our community. The city should work with WYfresh to find a solution that allows it to operate with the freedoms it currently has that allows them serve the community effectively. WYfresh is willing to negotiate a solution and deserves assurances that their farm and what they do will not be significantly impacted.

Let's stand together to protect WYfresh and all that it offers. By signing this petition, you're not only supporting an urban farm but taking a stand for the values of community unity, sustainability, and local well-being. We need your voice to be heard now more than ever. Please sign this petition to help WYfresh continue its mission without interference.

While I'm not on the public service committee, I do believe they are planning to carve out the Wy Fresh farm from this annexation. We will continue to work with the owners on a plan that allows the more comfortability with annexation though. Councilman Ken Esquibel

I have signed this petition and encourage others to do so. I DO NOT support the annexiation of WYFresh. I am working to amend the Ordiance to exclude WYFresh(Plot #4) and another property owner(Plot #7).
