Dear supporters

The courage that is being expressed in the current numerous protests in Iran is beyond compare and I cannot put it into words, because people are risking their lives every day for their rights and the overthrow of the Islamic Republic! (*Pictured: Young schoolgirls taking off their headscarves in protest and spurning the Islamic regime)

Despite the regime's blocking of the internet (*see below for help), massive police violence, increasing executions and the many deaths, the protests continue to grow!

This was triggered by the death of 22-year-old Jina Mahsa Amini, who was arrested and beaten to death by the morality police for wearing "un-Islamic" clothing.

The protests differ in that they are mainly led by courageous women (motto "Women-Life-Freedom!") and especially young people - i.e. young pupils and students - take to the streets in solidarity. Many of them have already lost their lives.

Currently, the students of the prestigious Sharif University are in danger! A few days ago, they were surrounded, beaten up and arrested by the police and militias of the Islamic regime. Professors were also beaten up. Their fate is uncertain and they are in acute danger!

Demonstrations in support of the Iranians are taking place all over the world and also in Germany to give them a voice! People of all political persuasions are joining together to demonstrate against the Islamic regime!

Please take the opportunity and participate at these demonstrations. Your voice will be heard in Iran and will give hope to the protesters! **You can find the latest demonstration dates in the comments section**.

After a long period of pressure, Foreign Minister Baerbock has finally expressed her solidarity with the women in Iran. But this is not enough. The example of Sweden shows how much more is possible to send a clear signal against this barbaric Islamic regime: Hamid Nouri - former henchman of Raisi, who was involved in a large number of extrajudicial executions of political prisoners, was recently sentenced to life imprisonment in Sweden for mass murder and violation of international law - a bitter slap in the face of the Mullah regime.

To help the people on the ground, the German government must put more pressure on the Islamic regime and take more far-reaching measures.

These include:

  • Summoning the Iranian ambassador! The anti-human Islamic regime must not be considered an equal treaty/trading partner!
  • No inclusion of the nuclear agreement.
  • No business relations of any kind with Iran!
Immediate ban on deportations to Iran.
  • Freeze the accounts of Iranian regime members.

I ask all supporters to write to Ms Baerbock and Mr Nouripour.

You are welcome to use the following text:

Dear Ms Baerbock, Dear Mr Nouripour,

I am deeply impressed by the current protests in Iran! Especially women, pupils and students are currently risking their lives for freedom and against this inhuman, barbaric regime!

I have already noted that you have expressed your solidarity with the strikers. But this is not enough. The people of Iran need active support and a clear distancing of the German government from the Islamic government in Iran. This includes: The immediate recall of the Iranian ambassador, no resumption of the nuclear agreement, no business relations of any kind with Iran and freezing the accounts of Iranian regime supporters! I also ask that a deportation ban be imposed on Iranian asylum seekers.

I stand in solidarity with the striking Iranians and demand that the German government act in accordance with the principles of the Basic Law and uphold the "dignity of the human being"!

Yours sincerely

What else could we do:

You can help to bypass the netblocking in Iran by installing a Snowflake on your computer. This helps people with blocked internet - like in Iran - to gain access. You can find more information here: https://snowflake.torproject.org/

Another possibility is to use a server on Signal, which was set up by the Taz.

Besides taking part in demos (*dates in the comments section), you can also support the following petition:

https://www.openpetition.de/petition/online/solidaritaet-mit-den-protestierenden-im-iran

https://www.amnesty.org/en/petition/end-the-protest-bloodshed-in-iran/

For more than 40 years, the Islamic regime has never been shaken as much as it is today.

We can make a difference in big and small ways!

Thank you to all supporters.

Your Saideh
