Dear supporters,

We are currently seeing the biggest uprising against the Islamic regime in Iran (motto: "Woman-Life-Freedom!").

Countless demonstrators have already been arrested, disappeared or executed directly on the streets (e.g. by gunshots).

Toomaj Salehi, a well-known rap artist critical of the regime, is one of them. He is one of the courageous freedom fighters. One who does not leave the many young people on the street alone.
He stands with them, demonstrates with them and is a role model - knowing full well that he is a thorn in the side of the regime because of his fame and influence.

I have created another petition for him, which you are welcome to support. Please spread his petition!

A few days ago - Sunday morning (30 October 2022)- he has now been arrested (pictured). Toomaj is in grave danger. He is believed to be tortured on a daily basis. He is accused by the regime of inciting protests and of being a danger to the whole country. These accusations are serious and could mean the worst.

The Islamic regime is known to use torture to force false confessions in order to sentence people to death. Toomaj's wide-reaching social media channel has been taken over by a friend who has been spreading his messages since his arrest.

Toomaj had already been arrested in 2021 for his songs critical of the regime. He was released after much international pressure. Your support (emails to the government) also contributed to this.

I therefore ask you to write to the responsible persons in the government (Mrs. Baerbock, Mr. Nouripour, as well as the human rights commissioners) and ask for his release.

For weeks now, countless people in Iran, especially young people, have been risking their lives every day because they are demonstrating against the brutal regime in Iran.

Now it has become known that Toomaj Salehi, a rap artist critical of the regime, was arrested by security forces of the Islamic regime on 30 October 2022. He is a thorn in the regime's side because he has publicly exercised his right to freedom of expression and participated in demonstrations. Salehi speaks out against oppression, corruption, poverty and impunity and demands accountability from the Islamic regime.

His life is now in danger. He is accused of serious crimes. He is reportedly being tortured. Forcing false confessions under torture is one of the methods of the Islamic regime. Human rights are among the fundamental rights in the Basic Law. Freedom of expression is one of the fundamental rights. I therefore demand that you immediately work for the release of Toomaj Salehi. Please act! It may be too late at any time!

Currently, many demonstrations are also taking place in this country. These demonstrations are very important because they encourage the people of Iran and send a signal internationally. People in Iran were moved to tears by the last large demonstration in Berlin on 22 November, in which about 200,000 people took part.
