Dear supporters,

there is very sad news:

Yesterday (5.8) the 30-year-old construction worker and demonstrator, Mostafa Salehi, was hanged at dawn in a prison in Isfahan Central Iran! The execution was announced and executed at very short notice. He leaves two small children behind.

He was innocent, tortured and had no access to a lawyer during a very unfair trial.

Salehi was accused of killing a member of the Revolutionary Guard during the nationwide protests in the years 2017 to 2018 in the city of Kahrizsang in Isfahan province.

There was no evidence of this. Salehi had always denied the charges brought against him and asked that the camera footage be reviewed from the crime scene as it visibly exonerates him. He defied the terrible torture and courageously stuck to his statement!

According to a source close to Mostafa Salehi, the 30-year-old construction worker was therefore initially acquitted of the charges brought against him in court and told that he would be released, but the case was reopened under pressure from the IRGC's intelligence department.

The execution of Mostafa Salehi shows once again that the Islamic regime is only interested in revenge. Apparently, the nationwide protests against executions are to be nipped in the bud in this way.

We now have to fear even more for the other five demonstrators! Mohammad Bastami, Mehdi Salehi, Hadi Kiani, Abbas Mohammadi and Majid Nazari, who were recently scheduled to be executed and also sentenced to death in connection with the protests from January 2017 to December 2018, are in danger! Please read how you can help them in the update of 28.7. Due to the courageous protests of their families and friends and the media attention, the regime has not yet carried out the executions.

Regarding Amir Hossein, Mohammad and Said: After the executions were postponed, the lawyers have discovered striking procedural errors after inspecting the files. The trial will be reopened. The lawyer, Dr. Babak Paknia, is in telephone contact with Amir Hossein. He reports that he is in hospital and is being treated. Recently it had been his birthday!

Ms. Gyde Jensen - Chairwoman of the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid of the German Bundestag, recently reacted positively to the petition : "Amir Hossein Moradi, Mohammad Rajabi and Saeed Tamjidi represent a large number of Iranians whose human rights and freedoms are systematically disregarded by the Iranian regime...Germany has the opportunity, within the framework of its EU Council Presidency, to design and advance criminal prosecution and sanction mechanisms for human rights violations.". (full answer)

Germany can help the detained demonstrators - through its EU Presidency, but also through a strong public.

The petition demands a response from Heiko Maas by 10 August, as time is running out. We want to stop further executions!

I thank you all!

Many greetings
