Dear Supporters,
First, a huge thank you to everyone who has signed and shared this petition so far. Together, we’ve just hit 563 signatures on Change.org — an amazing milestone and proof that Hackney residents and commuters are ready for their voices to be heard.
But we’re not done yet.
The crucial petition — the one that Hackney Council is legally bound to respond to — is the official Hackney Council petition. Right now, it only has 56 signatures. We need hundreds more for Hackney to listen.
Here’s how it works:
• 250 signatures → Triggers a debate in the local neighbourhood committee
• 500 signatures → Forces a public meeting where officers must answer questions
• 750 signatures → Requires a debate at a full Council meeting
Our goal? 1,000+ signatures to make sure Hackney can’t ignore us.
👉 So if you’ve already signed this Change.org petition and you are a Hackney resident, please take one more step and add your name to the official Hackney petition here:

Please note: the Hackney petition is only open until 6 November 2025. We need every Hackney resident who supports this change to sign it before then.
We’re not just signing for the sake of it — we’re signing for change, fairness, and balance. For safer roads that work for drivers and non-drivers alike, for families, carers, businesses, and all residents.
Thank you again for standing with us. Let’s keep the momentum going.
Together, our voices can’t be ignored.
With gratitude,
ShaToya Rose
