Why this matters:
This isn’t just about Dalston. It’s not just Mare Street, Hoxton, or London Fields.
Roads across the entire borough of Hackney are being shut down — without fair consultation, community insight, or even warning.
We’re being pushed to the outskirts of our own borough.
We’re no longer able to drive through Hackney — we’re driving around it.
Here’s what that’s causing:
🚗 Travel times that are 3x longer than they should be
🧑🦽 Disruption for disabled residents who can’t endure long delays
🧓🏽 Stress for elderly people, carers, and parents doing daily essential journeys
🧑🏽⚕️ Delays for emergency workers and key services
🛍️ Pressure on local businesses and deliveries
And most importantly —
We were never asked. Our voices weren’t heard. And that’s not acceptable.
We’re still just getting started — and every single signature brings us closer to real change.
Let’s make it impossible for Hackney Council to ignore us.
