Stop the excessive noise pollution from the Belmont shooting ranges

The issue

The noise and excessive shooting from the Belmont shooting ranges, in particular the Brisbane Sporting Clays and SSAA, are dramatically affecting many residents way of life. Hundreds of residents across Carindale, Belmont and Chandler, at the very least are affected. The shooting occurs during the week and all weekend, and significantly inhibits residents ability to rest as well as scares native animals and children. The ranges are permitted to shoot until 10pm and up to 95db in some cases. This is enough to cause hearing loss! Sound readings are often well over 80db inside people’s homes. The mental health of residents is at risk with what often sounds like a war zone! The gun clubs have been approached and are not interested in working with residents to come to a ‘liveable’ agreement for all parties. Please help us by signing the petition to force these clubs to dramatically reduce their sound emissions!
