This problem makes students feel uncomfortable, students want to be able to express themselves at school. I asked an anonymous teacher and they said, "Dress code means I can't connect with my students, it causes anxiety for me because I have to address students who do well in school, and writing passes wastes time, class time." I asked a few students in my class, "How will school change via dress code?" Some of my most common answers were, "I will be more comfortable." "I will be able to express my interests, quietly." "I think it will take a big responsibility of students, and teachers." This is an issue that, with new heavy enforcement of the dress code, should be addressed sooner rather than later. "I just want to be able to sit in class with sweatpants, what's so wrong about that?"
