Stop the DVLA from cooperating with private parking firms
The Issue
The DVLA (the UK government's vehicle licensing agency) allows any private parking company full access to their computerized list that links vehicle registrations to the names and addresses of their owners. Private parking companies abuse this privilege to pursue unjustified parking 'fines' on private property. This privilege should be restricted to official bodies such as local authorities. Parking has to be paid for but unscrupulous parking management companies are using this privilege to pursue trivial contractual claims against motorists as an unfair money-making exercise.
Stop the DVLA from giving unrestricted access to private parking firms.
