Hundreds attended last night's meeting at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock NC to listen as the Office of Public Staff posed questions to Duke execs and to hear their answers; many of their answers were met with scoffs, laughter and shaking heads. Attendees provided data, documentation, anecdotes, evidence and testimony (although this was not an actual hearing where peoples' presentations were sworn/recorded) that this project is not only unneeded but also dangerous. Duke execs admitted that in their evaluation of plans THEY DO NOT CONSIDER PROPERTY VALUES OF TAXPAYERS TO BE A VIABLE CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION. They don't use economic data except that which relates to their own bottom line to guide decisions. Will their arrogance never end?
