Land Use Planning in Oregon depends on public involvement. Please join us at the January 30th 7pm meeting of the Wallowa County Planning Commission at the County Courthouse to ensure that the Commission carefully considers the appeals that the neighbors of the Dollar General development have filed.

While this development may not immediately impact your ability to enjoy your home, the precedent it sets is a terribly dangerous one. Significant land use decisions should be made in daylight not dark hallways, policies and procedures must be followed to ensure health of our community, environment and economy. Of particular concern is the lack of public notice — neighbors who are within site and sound of the development were not provided any notice of the Lot Line Adjustment or Zone Permit.  The Planning Commission contends that a for sale sign on a property is notice enough and has allowed a national retailer whose presence will impact the safety of a school bus stop, impact safety and much more.

If you can not attend, written comment may be submitted to the Planning Department by Please join us at the meeting on January 30th. We’d appreciate your testimony at the meeting or in advance. Written comments to the Planning Department at 101 S River St., Room 105, Enterprise OR 97828 – by 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.   You can find more info on our website https://www.nodollargeneral.com/planning-commission-meeting
